We will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the very first Corsair Nationals which was held in Pensacola in 1994, setting the precedent for several great events to follow. Our goal is to make this an event that caters equally to both racers and recreational sailors by upping the fun factor and adding educational/informational sessions, while still providing a rigorous racing schedule for hardcore racers!
The relatively central and easily accessible location of Pensacola, our user friendly protected sandy beaches with a lack of hazardous conditions (like rocks or strong currents), and our stunningly beautiful waters make this an ideal location for an event of this type. We are aiming for attendance of at least 35 boats, hopefully more (in the past we have seen up to 65 Corsairs for a Nationals in our area). The official Notice of Race is now available. Not all of this event agenda is cast in stone, and we are open to suggestions. Your comments and suggestions will be invaluable to us, just comment to this post if you wish to offer suggestions and voice support.
The following URL is a link to an interactive map with clickable place markers illustrating the location of the points of interest and facilities mentioned, so that you can put it all in perspective. (What you can't see on the map is the sheer beauty of the area, the emerald waters, white sand beaches!)
