30 Year Timeline of Corsair Marine

30 Year Timeline of Corsair Marine

1984 - Corsair Marine was established through a partnership between John Walton (son of Sam Walton, Founder of Wal Mart) who offered to finance the production of the uniquely designed F boat and Ian Farrier, the designer who patented and built the original prototype in Australia back in 1974. With the production facility located in San Diego, California together they produced and marketed the world's first trailerable and very fast, trimarans. This initial partnership thus set the stage for a boat, then little known, to take the monohull and multihull world by storm!

Our old F27 is still going strong. Can see it anchored about 100 yars from our dock at Stony Creek. Great boat. And still much fun. Herb

I bought my F-27 #50 in 1989. Those were heady times. John Walton, Mike Mitchie and Ian Farrier were very approachable. John would crew for new owners to get the most out of the boat. Of the original Corsair video "20 knots if by sea, 55 if by land", two participants still own their F-27s, and I own a F-31.
