TOMA Championship Update

After further analysis, we uncovered a couple of errors in the calculations for the overall TOMA Championship (Extreme Freshwater Edition) trophy.  There was confusion over the course lengths entered in the online Regatta Network for the Pulse 600 class, that impacted the overall results. This error did not impact the Pulse 600 class results (scored as One Design). For the TOMA trophy, we used the actual PHRF ratings calculated by TOMA chief Measurer “Michael Zotzky” for all 12 boats who... Read More »

2017 Multihull Solutions Regatta

With winds reaching high 20's only three of the Corsair Pulse 600 trimarans decided to brave the conditions, but this did not diminish the excitement of the class. Paul Baker/John Priestly aboard Pulse Yellow  claimed victory in the first race of the event. Andrew DeBruin's Multihull Solutions H30 snatched the second race and the overall lead by the end of day one. A costly mistake for Java Racing left them with a DNF in third and a lot of work recover from their penalty. Paul Baker/John... Read More »

The Pulse 600 saved my life...

Well, the new trimaran by Corsair saved my sailing life anyway... In short, I found myself without a fleet in my early 40's asking the question "what's next?".  I learned to sail at age 7.  I won my first national championship at 11, was a four-year letter at USMMA with a few national titles in hand by graduation in 1997.  After college, like many others, I continued to sail lasers and V15s though many of my fellow collegiate sailing competitors went into full-time Olympic campaigns.  ... Here's a good story we thought you might find interesting. First reported by Latitude 38 June 19, 2017— San Francisco Bay You may have noticed a handful of young Italian men sporting Team Maserati shirts in Point Richmond over the past few months. Whether their espressos are pre-paid is a question for Giovanni Soldini, team leader, world-renowned skipper, and owner of the Multi70 trimaran — or MOD70 — Maserati. Truth be told, they have been working full-time to prepare the boat for the start of... Read More »
