Thirty-two trimarans came to Sarasota this past weekend for the Corsair Nationals at the Sarasota Bay Multihull Regatta. With boats traveling from as far as the Great Lakes, New England, and even Washington State, there was great competition for all of the racers.

The PHRF LOW fleet had eight boats and was comprised of Corsair 31's, a Farrier 33 and one Cruze 970. The competition was close, with four different boats winning races during the 7 race regatta. In the end, it was Tom Reese on his new Cruze 970 Flight Simulator II who came out on top.

The PHRF HIGH fleet also had eight boats, including 27's and 24s. Unlike the bigger boats, this fleet was dominated by Ben Carver in his 27 ENTOURAGE who won every race. Great work Ben.

Speaking of domination, Randy St. James and his crew, who have only been racing Corsairs for about a year, won every race in the eight boat Corsair 750 fleet. Great work Randy.

The regatta also featured a few Pulse 600's, several Corsair 28's and two F25(c)'s racing in mixed fleets. Randy Smyth won the 28/25 fleet aboard YO, and Don Wigston won the Pulse 600 fleet.

The overall Corsair National awards went to Kathryn Garlic on EVOLUTION (1st), Randy St. James on LUCKY SEVEN (2nd) and Ben Carver on Entourage (3rd). Congratulations to all of the winners.

Many thanks to our hosts, the Sarasota Sailing Squadron, our race officer, Irene McNeil and to our sponsors, CORSAIR MARINE, SPINLOCK, COLLIGO MARINE, SMYTH SAILS, CALVERT SAILS, THE FINISH LINE and WINDCRAFT
